What are you expecting? What do you want to get out of it?

Here we bring you 5 things you should know before your first physiotherapy session:

The idea behind Physiotherapy is to restore your ability to move and function, so you can achieve your goals.

You may have been told that Physiotherapy is for people who have had accidents or other injuries, but it’s actually much more than that.

It is also for people who have chronic pain from conditions such as fibromyalgia, arthritis or maybe even migraines. We will work with you to help ease your pain and/or improve your mobility and function, and we’ll work with your other health care providers (such as your doctor or chiropractor) to make sure we’re all on the same page.

The best way to see improvement is by coming regularly. showing up consistently is the best way to see results! That doesn’t mean 365 days a year, but it does mean coming in at least once every two weeks.

Physiotherapy can be good for your general health! In fact, after your first session, you might even feel better than when you walked in the door.

You May Have to Change Your Diet. Your physiotherapist may ask you to cut out certain foods from your diet while you’re undergoing treatment, in order to help alleviate pain or discomfort caused by digestion issues. For example, if you have chronic back pain, it may be alleviated by switching from dairy products to soy products. Check with your doctor before making any changes to your diet.

There Are Many Different Kinds of Treatments. There are many different kinds of treatments for different kinds of conditions, such as neck pain and sciatica. The type of treatment depends on the cause of the pain—the wrong treatment can actually do more harm than good!
